Shay's Warriors Life After Cancer to speak at Desert United Luncheon

We are humbled to speak at the September 27th, Desert United Luncheon to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our year. Introducing you to Who Shay’s Warriors is, why we exist, and how we uplift the cancer community. Thank you Mario for the invite and opportunity to help create awareness.

Desert United Luncheons started in 2007 when founder Mario Hernandez noticed the housing market crash and the economic downturn that impacted  local businesses and entrepreneurs. 15 years later we continue to bring business professionals and non profits to network to build relationships and friendships and to get to know each other better by building our resources. He continues to find ways to support our local community with the current needs of the ongoing pandemic.

Cancer Changes Everything

Relax. Reset. Reconnect.

Cancer changes everything.

Who you were before cancer no longer exists, and many survivors find themselves asking: How do I move on? Will the cancer come back? Who am I now? Why can I not connect with my friends and family anymore?

The I AM HOPE Survivors Reset Retreat, organized by Shay’s Warriors, focuses on life after cancer. It is an annual weekend-long event providing a low- or no-cost opportunity for survivors locally and beyond who have finished their active treatments* to gather together and participate in educational sessions and emotional support conversations.

This retreat provides a safe place for those who have endured cancer to reset with others who are survivors in all aspects: physically, mentally and spiritually. Ultimately, participants will get to walk away with warrior laughter, love and friendships that will last a lifetime.

*Must be between 1- 5 years past active treatment or have doctor approval or upon special consideration of the SW Board of Directors
